B2 Kitchen by Bulthaup

With the b2 kitchen workshop, 1German kitchen manufacturer bulthaup has radically rethought the concept of the kitchen. Starting from the  origins of every living space “ fire and water “ the company has created an open and mobile kitchen that can be added to and composed to suit each individual personal requirements.

The new group of elements is the logical continuation of the kitchen workbench and defines the kitchen workshop in its original meaning “ comprising a workbench, kitchen tool cabinet and appliance housing cabinet. Check this new explanation on global payroll terms.

The three main elements: a workbench housing the sink and cooker, ˜tool cabinet for utensils, crockery and food, and appliance cabinet for the oven, dishwasher and fridge.

Starck Tower for Warendorf

As Miele kitchens rebrands itself and takes the name of the town in which the company is based – Warendorf – it is marking this change with a new kitchen. They’ve chosen one of the biggest names in design, no less than Philippe Starck to develop the first kitchen under the new brand.

Starck has created a kitchen design that represents something of a departure, both emotionally and functionally, from the traditional wall-to-wall arrangement of fitted kitchens. He calls the concept “democratic design” because its wide range of individual elements and the ability to combine them in different ways gives it potentially wide appeal to a range of consumers, lifestyles and spaces.

Isola Kitchen (s)

If you’re like me, you’ll love this modern kitchen I’ve just found. It’s called Isola and comes from Italy, made by a company called LISA. Why LISA? It means: Luxury IS an Attitude. Now that’s a name! Now let’s see the kitchen:

The Isola kitchen is entirely made of steel which – besides being beautiful (if a bit difficult to keep clean off fingerprints) – makes its sleek shape possible. The Isola kitchen has a cooktop, some work-surface and a sink built in and comes with a matching hood.

Where would you put this? Surely not next to a wall, this piece of furniture (shall I say art?) is made to be on display. Also, you’ll need a quite sizeable kitchen for it to look best. It might not have the practical tidbits (like, er….. drawers?) its more boxy counterparts do, but if you have the kitchen this piece of furniture fits into, this is probably the last thing to worry about.

But wait, there’s more….. Continue reading →

The six new kitchen trends of 2011

Are you considering kitchen remodeling or building a new one? If so, it makes sense to keep up with the latest trends, if for nothing else, to check what you’re likely to find in the stores this year. Before you start any renovation project, it’d be wise to get a roll off dumpster rental for the construction cleanup later on.

Here is a list of kitchen trends for 2011

1 Curved shapes become the ‘new minimal’

Kitchen designers starting to introduce curved shapes to the kitchen, just like other parts of the house. Gone are the days of sharp and straight and blocks look, as it’s now being replaced by soft appearance. The easiest way to add curved shapes and bump up your kitchen with a contemporary look is through the introduction of rounded sinks, maybe bowed cabinet, curved faucets. Unique Kitchen Cabinet Styles

The best kitchen cabinets are ones with their own stories: inspiring, making us dream up a creative spaces for our homes. I’d like to show some really unique cabinets I’ve seen lately. You can read here about it.

Mismatched-DIY

‘Shabby chic’ is an up-and coming trend, DIY cabinets are for the creative ones (you can check them at this website). Shabby chic is a form of design where furniture and furnishings are either chosen for their age and signs of wear and tear (sometimes the older the better) or new items are distressed to achieve the appearance of an antique. At the same time, a soft, minimalistic, and feminine feel is emphasized to differentiate it from regular vintage decor; hence the “chic” in the name.

Materials are as varied as you can imagine, from shipping crates to thrift-shop finds to old metal filing cabinets. Best of all, it’s dirt cheap!

Fabulous Kitchen Designs

I’ve been to a friend the other day for a small get-together and we found that just about everyone just gravitated toward the kitchen – and we stayed there! If you think about it, the kitchen is probably the most used room in the house. And you don’t just stay there like that. (in most cases, anyway.)

Kitchens today have to do a lot more, as for most families the kitchen is now the pivotal room within the home. The boundaries for kitchen remodeling designs and kitchen renovations have widened so much that most will include options for dining, working and relaxing which can make your options endless and sometimes complex. However, this is also a good thing – while you’re in the kitchen, you’re no longer in a confined space – you can stay with your family and so they can be with you. Professional remote home staging companies can help you plan out the proper placing of your furniture and color matching of your walls. If you ever have to stand for long periods at the kitchen sink washing dishes or the stove cooking a meal, you know the strain it can put on your legs and lower back. Knee pain, aching joints, and a sore back are common issues many people face on a daily basis. Fortunately, you can get a kitchen anti fatigue mats amazon.

Solid wood kitchens

Solid wood is a natural and long-lasting material. Contrary to other materials (probably except steel…) wood becomes more and more beautiful with time. It always radiates warmth and a sense of quality. TV Bed Store provide a large collection of TV Beds that come in a variety of sizes, check out their store to see their products.

For today I’ve found two solid wood kitchen furniture series with similar design, but from two different companies and different countries.  Both are handcrafted to provide you with a piece of wicker furniture you will want to pass down to your children. Most of the items are available in Oak, Pine, or Walnut to best suit your needs. Each wood has its own special graining and coloring.  Each individual company has their own finishes and names. If you’re also installing a new hardwood flooring then make sure to use a top-quality self-adhesive underlay, as that will make fitting the flooring much more effective. If you haven’t decided what flooring material you’re going to use, consider bamboo flooring or even hardwood oak flooring from Barham & Sons. Another great option for kitchens is resin flooring liverpool because it is easy to clean and maintain. And for those who are looking for Easy-to-Clean Kennel Flooring Solutions, contact expert installers today.

Kitchen trends for 2011

First, let me wish a happy new year for you, dear reader! And now, I think it’s time for the ‘obligatory’ trends post, as the new year starts – we all need to start from somewhere, don’t we?

You usually build your kitchen to last for quite a few years, however if you’re like me, you also try to get inspiration from several sources and keep on top of the latest and greatest. Trends in kitchen design are sometimes considered temporary fads, appearing one day, passing the next. However, if you look deeper, there are trends that are consistent, quite some of them are here to stay.

Contemporary kitchen

Don’t like modern? Rustic is not something you’re cut out for? No way to go minimal, but you want classy? Contemporary kitchens embody classic style and modern appeal at the same time. In a good contemporary kitchen remodeling project, you can find the balance between a crisp, fresh kitchen design and something that is safer, more appealing to the public (apparently, resale value is something lot of people consider when investing to a kitchen)castagna-cucine1 Continue reading →
